Feet Come in all shapes and sizes, and we love them all!

With valentines day rapidly approaching, we thought it would be a good time to think about giving a bit of love back to your feet. With busy lives, it's easy just to get on with your day without sparing a thought for those little things at the end of your legs that keep you on the go day and night!

Here are our top 5 tips for happy, healthy feet!

1) Wash your feet often
Keep your feet clean by washing them every day in warm soapy water, but don't soak them, as this might destroy your skin's natural oils. Make sure you also dry them well to avoid athletes foot.
2) Moisturise and file
If your skin is dry, apply moisturising cream all over the foot, except for between the toes. Gently remove hard skin and calluses with a pumice stone or foot file, and cut toenails carefully straight across to avoid ingrown toenails.
3) Shoe shop in the afternoon
Shop for shoes in the afternoon. Your feet swell as the day goes on and if shoes fit in the afternoon when your feet are at their largest, you can be assured they will always be comfortable. Wearing high heels should be limited if possible. You can check out our range of stylish comfort shoes here.
4) Change your socks often to avoid foot odour
Change your socks daily to keep your feet fresh. Read advice from College of Podiarty on buying socks
5) Don’t be hampered by foot pain
As we get older, foot care becomes even more important. Age takes its toll: your skin thins, your joints begin to stiffen and your feet become more vulnerable to the cold.
Not only that, but as our Podiatrist David says: "Physically, it gets more difficult for us to get to our feet as we get older. A professional foot MOT every six months is advised. If you are suffering from foot pain, you should never just put up with it as there is nearly always something that can be done!”
